Lesley Moisey, RD, MSc, PhD Candidate

Lesley Moisey is currently completing her PhD in Physiology and Nutrition at the University of Waterloo. Her doctoral work aims to comprehensively evaluate changes occuring in nutritional status, body composition and functional ability in survivors of critical illness and to further explore barriers specific to this population in achieving optimal nutrition. She is particularly interested in the development and implementation of integrative nutrition and rehabilitative therapies in the acutely ill to improve outcomes. Prior to returning to doctoral studies, Lesley worked as a medical/surgical dietitian in acute care. 

Since 2013, Lesley has chaired the CNS Education Committee which strives to develop and deliver unique learning opportunities to CNS members.  She also co-chaired the CNS Membership Committee from 2009-2011. In being involved with CNS, Lesley has enjoyed the opportunities afforded to meet, interact and collaborate with fellow nutrition clinicians, scientists and students from across the country. She feels privileged to be part of a such a unique Canadian society that embraces and brings together individuals from all streams and disciplines who share nutrition as a common interest.
