Assistant Professor in Molecular Nutrition

The School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen's University invites applications for a Tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Molecular Nutrition, with a focus on the mechanisms by which nutrition influences the maintenance of health and prevention of disease. The successful candidate may utilize a variety of experimental approaches but their research program must be primarily human based. The preferred starting date is July 1, 2019.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in kinesiology, nutrition, health sciences, or a related field completed prior to the start date of the appointment. The main criteria for selection are research and teaching excellence in human nutrition. Scholars who undertake research with marginalized populations are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants whose research program complements the current focus on physical activity and health within the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen's University.

The successful candidate will provide evidence of high quality scholarly output that demonstrates potential for independent research leading to peer assessed publications and the securing of external research funding.The successful candidate will have strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates will be able to teach courses in nutrition and health and will possess an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence in support of the School's programs. Candidates must provide evidence of an ability to work in a collegial and collaborative manner in an interdisciplinary and student-centred environment. The successful candidate will be required to make substantive contributions through service to the School, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
