Postdoctoral Fellow in Nutrition Research
An opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Ken Croitoru based at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital inToronto, Ontario, Canada. The Croitoru laboratory (http://croitorulab.com/) is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms behind human nutrition, genetic, environmental and microbial factors that contribute to the development and progression of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We will focus on the analysis of dietary questionnaire to assess if the risk of developing Inflammatory Bowel Disease is due to a certain diet and whether it influences the gut microbiome, gut permeability, metabolomic profile of the individuals. We will also assess if the risk to develop the disease can be reduce by a designed dietary intervention.
Available to the fellow will be the opportunity to work with established investigators in a large international study with access to a very large biosample repository, dietary and environmental questionnaires as part of the GEM project (http://www.gemproject.ca/).
