Manon Laporte RD MSc CNSC currently serves as a clinical nutrition coordinator at Réseau de santé Vitalité Health Network - Hôpital Régional de Campbellton, New Brunswick, Manon specializes in nutrition support, subjective global assessment and dysphagia. She has played a pivotal role in the Canadian Malnutrition Task Force (CMTF) since its inception in 2009, contributing to significant research and development projects including the Nutrition Care in Hospitals and More 2 Eat Phase 1 studies. Her efforts have helped shape integrated nutrition pathways in acute care and establish a Malnutrition Standard for Canadian Hospitals. Manon has authored 27 publications and frequently presents at major conferences on topics such as malnutrition screening and management. Manon co-led the work of the Canadian Nutrition Screening Tool which is used by many hospitals in Canada. Manon has been recognized by her peers with the Leadership Member Award from Dietitians of Canada (2019), and she also received a Clinical Nutrition Research Abstract award (2012) from CNS. Manon is a big advocate for the role of the dietitian in nutrition support, the work of multidisciplinary teams in malnutrition prevention, detection and treatment. Manon is a key member of the CMTF advisory and has been instrumental in research, education and a leader of change in practice.
