George Beaton Award
Recognizing Student Work in Public Health Nutrition
The George Beaton Award recognizes the highest-ranked eligible abstract in the field of public health nutrition submitted to the CNS Annual Conference.
How to Enter
Applicants must enter the competition at the time of abstract submission by selecting both the Nutrition Graduate Student and Trainee Award and the George Beaton Award on the abstract submission form.
Before submitting your abstract, please review the eligibility requirements below.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the George Beaton Award:
- The submitted abstract must be in the field of public health nutrition.
- The applicant must be a graduate student, post-degree dietetic intern or medical resident. Individuals who already hold a PhD are not eligible.
- Both the applicant and their supervisor must be current CNS members in good standing at the time of abstract submission.
- The applicant must register for the full conference in person as a student delegate.
- The applicant must enter both the Nutrition Graduate Student and Trainee Award and the George Beaton Award at the time of abstract submission.
Selection & Award
A committee appointed by the CNS President and Awards Chair will select the recipient of the George Beaton Award from the eligible abstracts submitted for consideration.
The award will be presented during the CNS Annual Conference and includes a monetary award and a framed certificate or plaque.
