WEBINAR DESCRIPTION:

Mood and anxiety disorders are common and not all patients find relief from the most common treatment options. Emerging evidence suggests that diet is a modifiable risk factor in the development of these conditions and that dietary counselling can be an effective adjunctive treatment approach. Attendees will gain familiarity with mood and anxiety disorders and when dietary counselling can be safely and appropriately provided. They will learn about special considerations for dietary counselling in this population. The latest clinical trials on the impact of diet change on mental health symptoms will be reviewed, including the world’s first clinical trial using dietary counselling as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, recently completed in Toronto by the presenter team.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Moderator: Heather Keller, RD PhD FDC FCAHS
