ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Dr. Tamara Cohen is an Assistant Professor and a registered dietitian at the University of British Columbia, in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, Human Nutrition. Her research bridges nutritional science and clinical dietetics with behavioural science frameworks to create and test novel tools and resources that elicit positive and sustainable changes in dietary behaviours throughout the lifespan.

Dr. Shirin Panahi is the Scientific Director of the Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) where she provides scientific leadership, guidance for programs and educational initiatives offered by CNS, trainee supervision and mentorship and the development of knowledge translation work. She is also the host of the CNS podcast, Nutrition Conversations. Dr. Panahi is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval in Quebec City where her research is primarily focused on exploring the effects of diet and its components on appetite control, metabolic health and lifestyle factors in the prevention and management of obesity.
