Nutrition professionals are often called upon to support both active and athletic individuals who wish to lose weight and/or body fat, but developing an effective program can be challenging, especially if the individual is actively training or competing. This presentation will provide specific examples of nutrition strategies to support weight and/or fat mass (body fat) loss for active individuals and athletes. Special attention will be paid to the benefits and limitations of various methods used to assess body composition changes, including DEXA, skinfolds, and bioelectrical impedance analysis.
