Tiffany Taft, PsyD, MIS
Dr. Tiffany Taft is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the social and emotional impacts of chronic digestive diseases. She graduated in 2009 with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in behavioral medicine. Her clinical training occurred at Northwestern in the gastroenterology division, as well as Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Taft is currently an Associate Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Her research focuses on two main areas: medical trauma and post-traumatic stress patients that inflammatory bowel disease may experience, and how hypervigilance to gut symptoms impacts patient outcomes in those with chronic diseases affecting the esophagus. Dr. Taft is the recipient of multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health and serves on national and international scientific advisory panels to emphasize the importance of whole-person care that includes mental health and quality of life. She also founded an independent group private practice in 2012 of psychologists and social workers who specialize in helping those with chronic medical illness in the Chicago area. Dr. Taft is also a patient and has lived with Crohn’s disease since 2002 and eosinophilic esophagitis since 2016.
