Webinar description:
In a world saturated with information, transforming evidence into visuals that educate, inspire, and resonate has become an essential skill. This webinar introduces the concept of visual knowledge translation—the art and science of turning complex, evidence-based information into clear and compelling visual formats through thoughtful design and storytelling. Focusing on the use of infographics in nutrition and health communication, the session will illustrate how visual media can bridge the gap between data and understanding. It will explore how design, creativity, and audience awareness work together to create visuals that are not only informative but also engaging and accessible. Drawing on a practical checklist for assessing infographic quality, clarity, and credibility, the session will highlight key considerations for balancing creativity with scientific accuracy. Participants will come away with a deeper appreciation of how visuals can enhance knowledge translation and make science more meaningful, memorable, and impactful.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the concept of visual knowledge translation and its role in communicating scientific and nutrition information effectively.
- Identify key elements of effective infographics, including content selection, design principles, and audience considerations.
- Apply strategies and evaluation criteria to create or assess infographics that balance creativity, clarity, and scientific accuracy.
