Speaker:
Guy Hajj-Boutros, PhD (Vanderbilt University Medical Center/McGill University Health Centre)
Webinar description:
The increasing prevalence of sarcopenic obesity presents a growing clinical challenge in aging populations. Loss of muscle mass, strength, and function can contribute to fatigue, falls, frailty, disability, and loss of independence. This webinar will translate current muscle health research into practical clinical strategies, focusing on the complementary roles of resistance training and nutrition.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the webinar participants will be able to:
- Describe the physiological changes associated with losses in muscle mass, strength, and function and explain their effects on health outcomes.
- Explain the roles of exercise and nutrition in preserving muscle mass, strength, and physical function.
- Apply practical recommendations integrating exercise and nutritional strategies to support muscle health.
Moderator: To be confirmed
About the Speaker:
