About Food for Health
The CNS has through its Advocacy Committee worked to enhance the health of Canadians through increased promotion of food and nutrition. Our goal is to engage the many voices of nutrition in productive discussions towards solutions and actions that improve the health of Canadians.
The primary vehicle for our advocacy outreach has been a series of CNS "Food for Health" Workshops held in tandem with the Annual Scientific Meeting. These workshops have provided a forum to bring together key stakeholders spanning the entire food-health continuum – producers, processors, manufacturers, government, academia and medical professionals. The workshop provides an opportunity for stakeholders for the sharing and exchange of knowledge and expertise. Frank and open discussions at the Workshops have led to new partnerships, new funding for projects, and new perspectives on both challenges and opportunities in Food and Health.
