Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity in diet analysis, diet quality assessment and biomarkers of disease risk

Dr. Andrea Josse, in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science, Faculty of Health, YorkUniversity (Toronto, Ontario) invites applications for a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship in the
areas of clinical diet/nutrient analysis, diet quality assessment and biomarkers of disease risk. The successful candidate will join a collaborative research team from both Brock and York Universities investigating the effect of a lifestyle intervention on dietary patterns and diet quality in overweight/obese adolescent girls with and without the consumption of dairy foods. Biomarkers of disease will also be analyzed. This clinical trial is jointly funded by
Dairy Farmers of Canada and Dairy Management Inc. (US National Dairy Council) and is jointly executed by researchers at Brock University (St. Catharines, Ontario) and York University. Data collection for the trial is complete. The postdoctoral fellow will focus on data analysis and dissemination.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in nutrition or another relevant area, with experience in diet/nutrient analysis. Statistical skills are an asset. The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for diet/nutrient analysis (using the Food Processor program by ESHA
Research), diet quality assessment, participate in biomarker (laboratory) analysis, and will have the opportunity to write and publish several manuscripts, present at national/international conferences and co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students. The candidate must show a track record of scholarly research productivity, be able to lead statistical analyses of clinical data and co-author manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.

The full-time position is for one (1) year. The postdoctoral fellowship will be based at York University in Toronto, Ontario.
