Dietetic Educator Appointment
The Department of Human Nutrition, St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a Dietetic Educator. The position is a three-year full time limited term position (with possibility of renewal) starting May 1, 2021. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Located in the town of Antigonish on the beautiful Northeast Coast of Nova Scotia, StFX is a small closely- knit university known for excellence in undergraduate education, community partnerships and legendary school spirit.
The Department of Human Nutrition offers an accredited undergraduate dietetics program and integrated dietetic internship, as well as partnerships with Human Kinetics, Business, and Education programs, to offer students multiple career paths. We are seeking an innovative and experienced dietitian to work closely with our current dietetic educator to teach and mentor students, develop new placement opportunities, guide practice-based research, and work with the department team to inspire future nutrition professionals. The position involves teaching practice-related undergraduate courses, student mentorship, liaising with professional and community groups, accreditation coordination, program development and partnership building.
The preferred candidate will have a Master's Degree, at least five years full-time dietetic practice experience and experience working with under-represented populations. Eligibility for membership in the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association (NSDA) is a requirement.
The Department is seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFX's priorities of equity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability in attracting underrepresented groups of students to the program is an asset.
