University of Calgary

Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Reimer Nutrition Lab at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship valued at $50,000 per year (plus benefits) for a two-year term (with the possibility of extension). The successful applicant will be expected to submit an application to the University of Calgary Eyes High Postdoctoral Match-Funding Program (https://research.ucalgary.ca/postdocs/funding-opportunities/eyes-high-postdoctoral-match-funding-program). Funding, however, is not dependent on success in this competition.

The Reimer Nutrition Lab performs translational research that tackles exciting questions in the fields of gut microbiome, nutrition and chronic metabolic disease. We use dietary manipulation of the gut microbiota (prebiotics, probiotics, high protein diet, artificial sweeteners) to mitigate/exacerbate obesity and diabetes risk. We actively perform preclinical studies and human clinical trials.

A successful candidate will have a PhD in nutrition, gut microbiota, metabolism, gut physiology, or related fields. Applicants with bioinformatics skills to assess the gut microbiota are preferred. Depending on the applicant's strengths, both preclinical and clinical projects are available in the lab.

Please submit the following to Dr. Raylene Reimer at reimer@ucalgary.ca:
