John Field has over 25 years of experience in chemical risk assessment. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry (focused on preclinical & clinical toxicology/pharmacokinetics) before moving to Health Canada in 2008, where he assessed toxicological risks in consumer products & cosmetics for a dozen years. In 2020, John joined the Food and Nutrition Directorate of Health Canada as Chief of the Chemical Health Hazard Assessment Division within the Bureau of Chemical Safety.
