The Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) is dedicated to advancing the nutritional health and well-being of Canadians. We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Finance Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Position Type: Finance Administrator
Location: Virtual, with preference to an individual in the National Capital Region
Time commitment: Estimated 35-40 days/year. $1,000/month
Salary = $1,000/month
The services provided by the Finance Administrator will include the following:
Administer accounts payable/accounts receivable
Assist in development and monitoring of annual budget
Upload payables using the organizations Electronic Funds Process (in lieu of cheque development)
Process semi-monthly payroll to staff (six staff)
Reconcile online banking payments (Stripe)
Monthly bank and credit reconciliation
Reconcile HST input tax credits; quarterly HST and QST report, Registered Charity Information Return
Prepare journal entries
Annually prepare financial statement working papers for external Accountants to review all accounts; discussion and preparing necessary documents to prepare and manage the year-end review/audit engagement
Produce, analyze and provide monthly financial statements to CNS Executive Director, responding to questions and making revisions, if required.
Prepare Annual T4 and T4 summaries and reporting requirements
Manage and maintain financial coding, files and systems
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in a similar role
Proficiency in financial software (specifically AccountEdge) and MS Office (Word, Excel).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Canadian financial regulations and compliance
