New Trainee Leadership Committee Chair!

Brock is a PhD Candidate in Human Nutrition under the supervision of Dr. Crystal Karakochuk at the University of British Columbia. He previously completed a Master of Science in Human Nutrition at McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at St. Francis Xavier University. As a Registered Dietitian, Brock has worked in a variety of research and clinical roles at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and at BC Children's Hospital, with specialization in the areas of General Pediatrics, Gastroenterology/Hepatology/Nutrition, and Allergy and Immunology. 

His primary research interests lie in maternal-infant health, micronutrients, infant feeding, and in optimizing paediatric clinical nutrition care. His current doctoral research, primarily supported by a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Award and a University of British Columbia Four Year Fellowship, involves conducting a randomized clinical trial to re-evaluate folic acid supplementation practices in children with sickle cell disease. Brock has served as a committee member on the CNS Trainee Leadership Committee since 2019, and will serve as Chair of this committee this upcoming year.
