Tune in to this CNS webinar on how to write an award-winning abstract to learn strategies to make your abstract submission stand out. Despite a limited word count, a well-written abstract should encompass all aspects of the study. This webinar will cover key components of abstract writing, whether it be a quantitative or qualitative study.

About the Speakers:

Dr. Bohdan Luhovyy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Human Nutrition of Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He completed his PhD from Lviv National University in Ukraine in 2001. From 2002 to 2005, Bohdan was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, and from 2006 to 2011, he was a research associate at the University of Toronto. In 2011, Bohdan joined Mount Saint Vincent University and trained over 30 students. In 2017, he was awarded The President and Vice President’s Advanced Career Teaching Award and MSVU Research Excellence Award in 2021. His research is focused on the development of functional foods and the assessment of their metabolic effects. Bohdan is a member of CNS since 2010.

Dr. Katherine Ford is a Registered Dietitian and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-Mitacs Health System Impact Postdoctoral Fellow with the Canadian Nutrition Society and the University of Waterloo. Katherine completed a PhD at the University of Alberta where she investigated the determinants of protein intake and the role of a high protein diet in maintaining muscle mass during chemotherapy treatment for patients with colorectal cancer. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Saskatchewan. Katherine utilizes her experience as Dietitian to bring a clinical perspective to her research and is interested in better understanding the impact of nutritional assessment and interventions on patient-oriented outcomes and how to spread and scale effective interventions.

The archived webinar will be available free of charge for both CNS members and non-members for one week. After that one week period, there will be a fee to access for non-CNS members; it will remain free of charge for CNS members. Certificates of Attendance are not sent to those who viewed the recording from the Education Portal.
